The STIHL FSA 120 R is a high-performance battery-powered brushcutter designed for heavy-duty trimming, mowing, and clearing tasks in professional landscaping and garden maintenance. As part of the STIHL AP System, it combines quiet operation with robust cutting power, making it ideal for use in noise-sensitive areas such as hospitals, schools, parks, or residential neighbourhoods.
 
This model is equipped with a powerful brushless EC motor that ensures long life, reduced maintenance, and consistently high performance throughout the entire battery charge — with no drop-off in cutting power as the battery depletes. The motor also supports regenerative braking, where energy is recovered during throttle release and fed back into the battery, increasing overall runtime.
 
The FSA 120 R features two speed settings, giving users full control depending on the task at hand:
Level 1 (Eco mode) for light trimming and lawn edging, optimising battery efficiency.
Level 2 (Full power) for denser vegetation and tougher clearing jobs.
 
The loop handle version (FSA 120 R) offers excellent manoeuvrability in tight spaces or complex terrain, making it ideal for trimming around trees, benches, fences, and similar obstacles. The handle can be quickly adjusted without tools, allowing for an ergonomic and customised working position. A soft grip ensures secure handling, even in wet conditions.
 
This brushcutter is compatible with a wide range of STIHL cutting attachments, including:

TrimCut, DuroCut, and PolyCut heads (optional accessories)
 
Each version is supplied with a shoulder harness to reduce fatigue and improve balance during extended use:
