The STIHL FSA 86 R is a high-performance battery-powered brushcutter designed for tackling challenging mowing, trimming, and edging work in larger home gardens and semi-professional settings. As part of the STIHL AP System, it is suitable for regular use in noise-sensitive areas like residential zones, parks, schools, and hospitals. With its IPX4-rated housing, it is fully weather-resistant and suitable for year-round outdoor use.
Equipped with a powerful brushless EC motor, the FSA 86 R delivers consistent output with no loss in performance as the battery depletes. The motor is protected by a ferromagnetic air filtration system, which intercepts fine metal particles from the airflow and ensures a long service life. The aluminium shaft offers durability and stability while remaining lightweight and well-balanced.
The loop handle is ideal for precision control in tighter or obstacle-filled areas, such as between shrubs or around park fixtures. It can be quickly adjusted without tools to suit the operator’s height and task. A spacer bracket is included for accurate trimming around trees and garden edges.
The soft grip control handle is designed for all-day comfort and features variable speed control, allowing the user to adjust the output as needed in real-time. The integrated speed lock and soft surfaces reduce vibration and make the tool easier to handle — especially over longer sessions.
The FSA 86 R is supplied with the AutoCut C 6-2 mowing head as standard, which is refillable without tools. It is also compatible with:
