The TS 500i is a high-performance 14” (350 mm) petrol-powered cut-off machine, designed for professionals who need maximum power and cutting precision in a compact and efficient tool. It can be operated handheld or mounted on the FW 20 cart and is supplied as standard with an abrasive cutting wheel.
 
At its core is STIHL’s unique Injection engine technology. The electronically controlled fuel injection system calculates the optimal fuel supply and ignition timing in real time. Sensors measure internal and external temperature as well as air pressure, and the control unit adjusts fuel injection accordingly. This provides significantly more power from the same weight and installation space compared to conventional engines, ensuring consistently strong torque and cutting performance.
 
The TS 500i is powered by a 3.9 kW STIHL 2-MIX engine that delivers excellent fuel efficiency with reduced emissions, meeting the strict EU Stage V emissions directive. The engine is low-maintenance and uses a petrol-oil mix as fuel, reducing overall running costs while maintaining high performance.
 
Starting is made effortless with several integrated features. A manual fuel pump reduces the number of pulls required after long breaks, while a decompression valve allows some of the compressed mixture to escape during start-up, lowering resistance on the starter cord. Together, these ensure reliable, easy starting in all conditions.
 
The TS 500i is equipped with electronic water control, making wet cutting efficient and convenient. The system is activated at the touch of a button, automatically supplying water when cutting speed increases and shutting it off at idle. Water flow can be finely adjusted using plus and minus buttons without changing grip, helping reduce water consumption while maintaining dust suppression and cooling.
 
A long-life air filter system with cyclone pre-separation extends service life and reduces maintenance. Around 80% of dust particles are separated from intake air before reaching the filter, keeping performance consistent even in tough, dusty environments.
 
For operator comfort, the STIHL anti-vibration system uses buffer and spring elements to minimise vibration transmission to the handles. This reduces fatigue during extended use, while the ergonomic handle design ensures a secure grip and precise control, making it easy to guide the machine along marked lines.
 
The guard includes a direct water connection for reliable dust binding and cooling, while semi-automatic STIHL belt tensioning maintains consistent tension, extending the service life of both the belt and bearings.
